Clemson seems to enjoy being an escape artist. They've Houdini'd their way through the first two games of the schedule, having trailed both Troy and Wofford at various points before rallying for a win. And they're about to do the same thing to Auburn, having taken a 38-24 lead after trailing by 14 twice.
Since the half, Clemson has scored on a 65-yard pass from Tajh Boyd to Sammy Watkins and another, 19-yard scoring strike from Boyd to Watkins, and a 38-yard field goal by Chandler Cantanzaro. Boyd is now 24-of-34 for 321 yards and four touchdowns. Auburn has countered with a 38-yard Cody Parkey field goal, which is akin to bringing your grandmother to a sumo wrestling match.
Not that this game is out of reach. As long as there is time on the clock for either of these offenses to score, the game is not over. But it's certainly getting late for the Tigers (Auburn variety) in the Upstate.
