The Iowa Hawkeyes trailed the Pittsburgh Panthers, 27-10, early in the fourth quarter, but then the ACCness set in for Pitt. Actually, they're still a Big East team, so the combination of Big Eastness and ACCness set in, which is even worse.
The Hawkeyes scored three unanswered touchdowns, all three passes by James Vandenberg. Kevonte Martin-Manley hauled in two of them, with Keenan Davis snagging the other. Micah Hyde picked off Tino Sunseri to seal it up, and the Hawks restored some of the vibes that had been soured by their triple-overtime loss to state rival Iowa State.
Iowa won the yardage battle, had more first downs and had two fewer turnovers, but of course it wasn't until the fourth that all those yards started to arrive.
Vandenberg finished with 399 yards on 31-of-48 passing.
