Skov suffered the injury in the second quarter when Arizona wide receiver Juron Criner was tackled into linebacker. He had to be helped off the field and was eventually taken to the locker room before halftime.
Last year, Skov helped lead the Cardinal to one of their best seasons in school history. He led the team in tackles with 84 and had 7.5 sacks. Even after playing less than two quarters on Saturday, his 19 tackles currently lead the team.
Beyond his tackling ability, Skov is basically the defense's quarterback. He relays all the defensive calls to his teammates and is responsible for calling audibles on the field. The junior was widely expected to consider a jump to the NFL after this season, but the injury will probably force him to reconsider sticking around for his senior year.
