The Alabama football team may be without the services of receiver Duron Carter for the 2011 season, says head coach Nick Saban (via Don Kausler Jr.). Carter had announced his transfer to the Crimson Tide back in April and then enrolled at the end of August. However, three games into the season, Carter has not been cleared because he has had issues with proving his eligibility.
Carter originally began his career with the Ohio St. Buckeyes, where his father, Cris Carter, played college football. He was ruled ineligible for the 2009 Rose Bowl and then transferred to Coffeyville Community College in 2010.
Alabama saw Julio Jones leave early for the NFL in 2011 and could have used Carter running down the football field. This year Marquis Maze is the team's leading receiver with 15 catches for 186 yards. No other receiver has more than seven receptions or has over 100 yards.
