It's Friday night, a superb high school matchup is on ESPN2 and, for some reason, BYU is playing UCF on ESPN. Friday night has traditionally been the one night for high school football. There's even a book written about it. But alas, here we are. Might as well make the best of it.
An acrobatic, juggling interception has been the difference in the game as UCF holds a 10-3 lead in the second quarter. Both teams started well on offense, but stalled and settled for field goals early in the first quarter. It seemed as though the defenses had the run of play early.
And in a way, it was the defense making the difference for UCF. BYU quarterback Jake Heaps dropped back to throw from his own end zone, but was picked off by Josh Robinson, who made the impressive juggling catch. The interception set the Knights up with excellent field position, and they took advantage two plays later on a 10-yard touchdown run by Jeff Godfrey.
Early in the second quarter, that's where we stand, with UCF up on BYU, 10-3.
