Temple's running all over Maryland in College Park so far: the halftime score is a stunning 31-0 in favor of the Owls. And thanks to Bernard Pierce, the Owls might be able to run up the score in the second half.
Temple's fed the Terps a steady diet of Pierce in the first half, and the rugged runner has delivered. He's carried the ball 20 times for 106 yards — more rushing yards than Maryland quarterback Danny O'Brien has passing yards — and scored all four of Temple's touchdowns in the first half.
Pierce isn't Temple's only offensive standout: quarterback Chester Stewart has connected on all seven of his throws. But Pierce will be turned to to run out the clock in the second half — again, Temple is in a position to worry about running out the clock at Maryland — and his numbers should only increase.
