Alabama Vs. Arkansas Score: A.J. McCarron, Tyler Wilson Trade Shots

Stay connected with SB Nation

The quarterbacks have stood out early in the SEC West brawl between the Alabama Crimson Tide and Arkansas Razorbacks. After A.J. McCarron went five-for-five on his way to 70 yards and a 37-yard touchdown pass to Michael Williams on a fake field goal, counterpart Tyler Wilson missed once in 12 attempts and found Dennis Johnson for 10 yards to even it at 7-7 in the first quarter.

Here's video of that fake field goal, via SportsGrid:

Long-drive scoring ceased at the end of the period, with the Hogs defense forcing the game's first punt.

Alabama's offense has used a more balanced attack this year, as far as running and passing go, perhaps since the loss of Mark Ingram. But they still have Trent Richardson. And they also lost Julio Jones. I don't know. So far today, they've kept Arkansas' defense on guard, but the Razorbacks have still forced a pair of fourth downs.
