Florida State Vs. Clemson Halftime Score: Tajh Boyd Helped Tigers To Halftime Lead

Stay connected with SB Nation

The Clemson Tigers are sitting pretty at halftime of their game against the Florida State Seminoles, taking a 21-10 lead into the second half. In a move that shouldn't be especially surprising, quarterback Tajh Boyd has contributed on all three of the home team's touchdowns.

Boyd completed 12 of his 14 passing attempts in the first half, including throwing a pair of touchdowns to Sammy Watkins and Dwayne Allen, as he's amassed 140 yards through the air through two quarters of play. The quarterback -- who was apparently nicknamed Fat Boy during springball, according to the ESPN announcing crew -- has also used his legs a bit as he's rushed for 21 yards and a touchdown.

Florida State's lone touchdown came on a long touchdown through the air when backup quarterback Clint Trickett connected with Rodney Smith on a 57-yard bomb through the air. Trickett's 10-of-15 with a touchdown and interception in the absence of E.J. Manuel.

Florida State is struggling in the penalty department more than any other. The Seminoles have been charged with just five penalties for 53 yards, but all have come at the worst possible time as they allow the Clemson offense to stay on the field -- including two personal foul penalties for running into the kicker.
