A week after a big win over the Ohio State, the Miami Hurricanes missed an opportunity to seize momentum, falling to the Kansas State Wildcats, 28-24. Kansas State was steady and strong, putting up seven points in each quarter to secure the win as Miami stalled in the end.
Kansas State did it on the ground, rushing for 265 yards and two touchdowns in the win. John Hubert had a huge day out of the backfield, carrying the ball 18 times for 166 yards and a touchdown. Hubert scored his only touchdown of the game in the fourth quarter, finding the end zone for what turned out to be the game-winner. Quarterback Collin Klein accounted for three touchdowns, throwing for 133 yards and two scores while carrying the ball 22 times for 93 yards and a touchdown.
Jacory Harris threw for 272 yards, two touchdowns and an interception in the loss. Lamar Miller lead Miami on the ground with 106 yards and a touchdown. Travis Benjamin led all receivers, catching six passes for 91 yards and a touchdown in the loss.
