Not sure how this one flew under the radar, but there's no way it should have. Mississippi State and Louisiana Tech are heading to overtime with the score tied at 20 in Starkville. This is Louisiana State we're talking about here, and though the Bulldogs seem to be down a bit this year, it's not a good look.
So how did this happen? Less than potent offenses and a whole lot of field goals, that's how. Chad Bumphus opened the scoring by housing a punt in the first quarter and it looked like the Bulldogs were off to the races. By the end of the second quarter, Mississippi State was up 17-10, and all still seemed to be well.
But in the second half, MSU only mustered a third quarter field goal, allowing La. Tech to climb back into the game. Louisiana Tech put up 10 points in the half, including the game-tying field goal early in the fourth quarter, and the Bulldog on Bulldog action headed to overtime.
