The Nebraska Cornhuskers visited War Memorial Stadium in Laramie, WY, and came away with a 38-14 victory over the Wyoming Cowboys. This ended Wyoming's brief moment in the sun as a 3-0 team.
The Nebraska running game was at full speed as it picked up 305 yards on the ground. Rex Burkhead averaged 11.3 yards per carry, finishing the night with 15 carries for 170 yards and two touchdown runs. His longest play of the day was a 45-yard touchdown run for the first score of the day. He opened the scoring in the third quarter with a 16-yard dash for the end zone.
Cornhuskers quarterback Taylor Martinez threw for 155 yards and one touchdown. His Wyoming counterpart, Brett Smith, had just 166 yards and two touchdowns.
Nebraska (4-0) heads to Madison next weekend to face the Wisconsin Badgers. Wyoming (3-1) have next week off before facing Utah State.
