Arizona State quarterback Brock Osweiler connected with senior wide receiver Aaron Pflugrad on a 60-yard touchdown pass to give the Sun Devils a 16-10 lead over No. 21 midway through the second quarter.
The extra point was blocked, which could be a factor later in the game.
Osweiler's strike came just moments after Missouri Tigers sophomore quarterback James Franklin tied the score on a two-yard touchdown run that capped a 12-play, 70-yard drive that was extended by a little bit of luck. Two plays before his touchdown, Franklin fumbled near the goal-line, but Missouri retained possession. An incomplete pass on third down was negated by a questionable pass interference penalty on Arizona State cornerback Osahon Irabor that gave Missouri a first-and-goal from the Sun Devils' 2-yard line.
Franklin scored on the very next play.
