Stay connected with SB Nation

Has anyone asked who Urban Meyer is rooting for? Monday, Meyer's former team, the Florida Gators, will face his future team, the Ohio State Buckeyes in the 2012 Gator Bowl.

Almost five years ago, these two teams battled for the national championship with Florida defeating previously unbeaten Ohio State 41-14. Fast forward to 2012 and both teams underachieved, finishing 6-6.

The Gators will have to find some toughness; head coach Will Muschamp called his team "soft" after its 21-7 loss to rival Florida State last month. Florida has lost six of eight, but are 6-2 in the Gator Bowl.

Meanwhile, the Buckeyes will look to extend their two-game bowl winning streak, a streak that would last two years considering their ban from postseason play next season because of a series of rules violations.

Time: January 2, 2011, 1 p.m. ET

Location: Everbank Field, Jacksonville, Florida

TV Schedule: ESPN2 and online at ESPN3.com

Odds: Ohio State is favored by 1
