NFL Draft 2012: Robert Griffin III Yet To Decide, Says Father

Stay connected with SB Nation

Let's work with the assumption that Baylor Bears quarterback Robert Griffin III will leave school for the 2012 NFL Draft. He's already graduated and won the Heisman Trophy, Baylor truly cannot get much better than it was this season, and he's got an excellent chance to be the second quarterback drafted. Reports have had him declaring early entry, but it's not official yet.

His father, for one, says RG3 has yet to make up his mind:

"Whatever Robert does, he can't make a bad decision," said his father, Robert Griffin Jr. "He hasn't made his decision because he wants to talk to coach (Art) Briles first. From there, he will let people know."

Most pro and college fans alike would be stunned if Griffin chose to stick around Baylor. This isn't a situation like Matt Barkley at USC, where a potential national championship awaits. Griffin has already achieved something hardly anyone would've thought possible at Baylor, and it's hard to see what he could gain by returning.
