Capital One Bowl 2012: Alshon Jeffery Makes 78-Yard Catch, For What It's Worth

Stay connected with SB Nation

When the Nebraska Cornhuskers are at their best, their game plan is simple: give Rex Burkhead the ball, and then think about how next to give Rex Burkhead the ball. The plan was strayed from, resulting in a silly fumble. The South Carolina Gamecocks took immediate advantage, as Connor Shaw struck Alshon Jeffery for 78 yards and deep into the red zone.

Sadly, it set up not a whole lot, as the Cocks dawdled around at the goal line and had to settle for a field goal that went awry. On third down, Shaw probably should've called a time out, but attempted some sort of read option dive thing that ended with the ball bouncing around on the ground as officials whistled delay of game.

This was the most South Carolina drive of 2012, I'm confident.
