Gator Bowl 2012 Halftime Score: Ohio State Pulls Closer To Florida

Ohio State's offense nearly got a tying touchdown in the second quarter, and nearly got pushed back out of field goal range by Florida's Jaye Howard. Drew Basil split the difference with a field goal to make the halftime score at the 2012 TaxSlayer.com Gator Bowl 14-10 in the Gators' favor.

Braxton Miller airmailed a pass to an open Ohio State receiver in the end zone with the Buckeyes threatening late in the second quarter, and Howard burst through the line for a sack on a play shortly after to push Ohio State way back. Basil's 47-yard field goal cut the Gators' lead to four points.

Florida leads at the half despite running just 26 offensive plays. The Gators were last in FBS in plays run this year.
