There's plenty of argument to be made that the Michigan Wolverines and Virginia Tech Hokies did not deserve an invitation to the 2012 Sugar Bowl over a number of teams with better rankings, but they're still likely to produce an entertaining contest on Tuesday night. Virginia Tech has only lost to one team this season, the Clemson Tigers, while the Wolverines have enjoyed a serious resurgence under Brady Hoke and have made serious improvements on the defensive side of the ball.
Michigan's improved defense and VT's always stellar special teams play will be keys to the game, but the most talked-about aspect of the game will still be the play of Michigan quarterback Denard Robinson, who is considering early entry into the NFL Draft. Robinson, who was previously thought of as an injury-prone player, played in every game for the Wolverines this season while accumulating over 2000 yards passing and 1000 yards rushing.
The Hokies have some offensive firepower of their own, and will be leaning heavily on running back David Wilson, the ACC Offensive Player of the Year.
