The West Virginia Mountaineers, who entered halftime on pace to score 98 points, are now on pace to score more than 100 points. The opening drive of the 2012 Orange Bowl's second half ended when Geno Smith found Stedman Bailey to make it 56-20.
That's four touchdowns for WVU in the last five minutes of game time. Smith has surpassed 300 yards with 27 minutes remaining. West Virginia's even rushed for 114 yards, right around its average for an entire game this season.
More points could be on the way, as the Mountaineers defense has just forced a punt out of the Clemson Tigers. See you soon!
Oh, also, the latest record set to crumble:
@sbnation And West Virginia ties the record for points by a team in a BCS game ... with about two quarters to go.
