Virginia Tech running back David Wilson will announce Friday whether or not he intends to enter the NFL Draft.

Virginia Tech Hokies leading rusher David Wilson will announce whether or not he intends to declare for the NFL Draft on Friday, according to Roanoke Times Virginia Tech beat writer Andy Bitter. Wilson, a junior, had a massive year in his first season as Va Tech's primary ball-carrier, racking up 1709 yards and nine rushing touchdowns while averaging 5.9 yards per carry.

If Wilson comes out, he will likely be the beneficiary of an average running back class. Alabama junior Trent Richardson will clearly be the first running back chosen in the draft, but there are certainly no seniors who will be rated above Wilson. Some juniors have decisions to make that will skew Wilson's standing, but more likely than not, he'll end up going in the first three rounds and will be among the first five running backs selected if he opts to enter the draft.
