ACC-leading rusher David Wilson will leave Virginia Tech for the 2012 NFL Draft.

Virginia Tech Hokies running back David Wilson, fabled for his ability to eat Chick-fil-A on Sundays, will soon be doing something entirely different on Sundays: playing football. At a press conference Friday morning, Wilson announced he'll enter the 2012 NFL Draft.

He's a potential first-round pick, especially if Alabama Crimson Tide running back Trent Richardson stays in school, as he's hinted at. It takes a lot to be a first-round running back these days, but ranking fourth in the country in rushing yards is one way to get it done. Still, going in the second as he's projected would be a fine showing for the modern back.

That's where Wilson said the NFL's advisory board told him he'd likely be selected. He said he nearly teared up while writing his goodbye letter to Hokies coaches.

At five-foot-10 and 205 pounds, Wilson's got some power, but he's known as a speed guy. While this sort of thing can happen, he's also capable of producing runs like this.
