South Florida Bulls defensive coordinator Mark Snyder could become Kevin Sumlin's first defensive coordinator at Texas A&M, according to a report. A&M had previously tried to bring on Michigan St. Spartans DC Pat Narduzzi, who elected to stay in East Lansing.
Via TexAgs.com's Billy Liucci, who also had the Narduzzi report (which Narduzzi confirmed):
@billyliucci Confirmed per multiple sources connected to process, Sumlin tabs South Florida's Mark Snyder as defensive coordinator
USF ranked No. 39 in total defense in 2011 and No. 17 in 2010, his first year in Tampa. He went 22-37 as Marshall's head coach before joining South Florida. Previous stops have taken him to Ohio State, Minnesota, UCF and elsewhere.
This would be his first job in Texas. In fact, he's never held a job in Big 12 country. Well, West Virginia is Big 12 country now, but you know what I mean.
