Feb 15, 2012 - According to quarterback Matt Barkley's Twitter page, the USC Trojans have hired former Tennessee Volunteers quarterback Tee Martin to coach their wide receivers.
USC has not officially announced any additions to the coaching staff.
Martin, 33, backed up Peyton Manning for two seasons before leading the Volunteers to a national championship following the 1998 season. He was a fifth-round pick of the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2000 and had a brief stint with the Philadelphia Eagles before taking a turn in NFL Europe with the Rhein Fire in 2002. Martin finished his NFL career with the Oakland Raiders in 2003.
Martin spent two seasons with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers of the Canadian Football League before getting into coaching, first as the quarterbacks coach of the New Mexico Lobos in 2009 and the last two seasons as the Kentucky Wildcats' receivers coach.
Trojans wide receivers were coached by Ted Gilmore last season, who left to accept a job with the Oakland Raiders.
