Jay Norvell's Twitter Account: Hacked Or Not Hacked?

The college football debate of the afternoon, other than whether Davonte Neal is a real football player or not: Was Oklahoma Sooners offensive coordinator Jay Norvell's social media presence hacked when he apparently sent public tweets to a number of recruits? To the casual fan, it seems unbelievable that a coach would break NCAA rules in careless fashion, but those of us who've been exposed to Mark Richt's mastery of the minor butt-dial violation see genuine coachcraft all over this one.

However, one of the players to whom Norvell appeared to have tweeted has declared himself #TeamHacked:

Now we have a recruit publicly expressing sympathy with a particular school's coach, which might not work out all that badly for the Sooners after all, but we'll wait to see what the NCAA thinks about all this. And now, some discussion questions:

  1. Has a sinister conspiracy emerged?
  2. Is Jay Norvell playing us all?
  3. Is Jay Norvell just trying to get players to publicly side with him before they even step foot in Norman?
  4. Have we just seen the digital equivalent of the Mike Gundy rant?
  5. Why do we never believe players when they say they were hacked, but assume a coach was hacked even before he's claimed so himself?
  6. How will Lane Kiffin top this on purpose?
  7. Will Nick Saban only tweet the same player 99 times at once, so as to avoid Twitter jail?
  8. Is Oklahoma gonna fry for this?
  9. Will the Big 12 boot Oklahoma for Louisville?
  10. Will Louisville even accept membership in a conference tainted by TCU and Oklahoma?
  11. Should recruiting be banned?
  12. Should players just be assigned colleges?

Pretty important things to think about.
