Greg Davis Hired As Iowa Offensive Coordinator, According To Report

Stay connected with SB Nation

The Iowa Hawkeyes will indeed name former Texas Longhorns offensive coordinator Greg Davis as Ken O'Keefe's replacement, Austin American-Statesman columnist Kirk Bohls reports (while nicely tippin' the cap). Davis has been the only real rumor to take over Kirk Ferentz' offense, with his name emerging just days ago.

Davis worked with Mack Brown since the late-'90s at UNC and then Texas, previously working throughout the SEC. Iowa fans are expecting him to be pretty much O'Keefe all over again, if he is indeed brought on.

This would just about complete Iowa's coaching staff for 2012, and, despite all the upheaval, it's just about indistinguishable from last year, with 13-year Iowa vet Phil Parker taking over the defense.
