The LSU Tigers have enjoyed one of college football's most fearsome home field advantages, and not just because they've got a m************ live tiger walking around like it's no big deal. Mike is actually the least of your worries.
And Death Valley has had that rep even since it was half as big as it is now. Bear Bryant once called it "the inside of a drum," while Bobby Dodd compared playing at LSU to being a Christian in the Coliseum.
So, good news, opponents! Tiger Stadium is expanding from 92,542 to 99,500 in time for either 2014 or 2015. (And if you think LSU fans can't squeeze another few hundred in to make it 100,000, they'll be delighted to show you.) That would make it the seventh biggest American football stadium in the world and the third biggest in the SEC behind Tennessee's and Alabama's.
