Urban Meyer Won't Call Michigan By Name, Dave Brandon's Retort Hits Wrong Target

The Michigan-Ohio State rivalry is one of the best in college football, with plenty of hate to go around. It's even better when the coaches are getting into it and when one of said coaches is Urban Meyer. We all know by now that Urbz don't play, and he's not messing around when it comes to Michigan.

Observe the war of words, or non-words.

Michigan football coach Brady Hoke started calling Ohio State "Ohio" when he took the job last winter. Now new OSU coach Urban Meyer has "That Team Up North" in Michigan's spot in the team meeting room -- an homage to former Buckeyes coach Woody Hayes.

Star-divide

Michigan AD Dave Brandon is that kid that screams "I am rubber and you are glue."

"I think it's really unfortunate the slam that they're taking at Michigan State, because MSU, really, is the team that's the furthest north," he said at today's Winter Classic news conference.

"I don't know how to read all that. I don't if they thought that through completely. And frankly, I don't care a whole lot to how they refer to us."

In other news, Meyer calls the rest of the Big Ten squads "Recruiting Farm Teams."

I can't wait to kick the crap out of these cheating thugs again

i do think it’s funny how excited osu fans about meyer, considering he will probably only coach a year or two before he is too “ill” to coach again.

Who really cares anymore???

No two programs live off of their pasts like these two do.

No league lives off of their past like the B1G does.

The SEC and Big 12 are clearly better now, and, will remain so for the foreseeable future.
