Today I learned the following:

↵

UCF sports teams were originally known as the "Knights of the Pegasus" since their first intercollegiate competitions in 1970. They switched to "Golden Knights" in 1993 as a solution to poor merchandise sales.

↵

As in, "heeeeeere come the Knights of the Pegasus" and "personal foul, Knights of the Pegasus" and "the Knights of the Pegasus' recruiting violations." Life is so great.

↵

Weep with me as you realize that George O'Leary was not in charge of Central Florida in the '70s, and thus the world has never heard until right now of that forgotten order of Greek heroes, the Gator-Knights of the Pegasus.
