Urban Meyer Responds To Sporting News Story, Denies 'Circle Of Trust'

Ohio St. Buckeyes coach Urban Meyer has retorted to Matt Hayes' story that painted the coach's Florida Gators program as one big downfall swirling with preferential treatment and drug use. Shockingly, Meyer denies all charges while speaking with the Columbus Dispatch, shooting down the "Circle of Trust" and Percy Harvin's fight with a position coach. He did, however, admit to certain players getting special privileges:

"That's probably a correct statement," he said. "We did do that. We do that here. We did it at Bowling Green and Utah. If you go to class, (if) you're a warrior and do it the right way on and off the field, (if) you're completely committed to helping us win, you're going to be treated really good. You're going to get nice gear. You're going to get to move off campus if you like. Guys that don't go real hard and aren't committed, yeah, it's real difficult."

That description of the sort of players who get preferential treatment doesn't exactly square with the way Harvin's described in the Sporting News story. It seems there may be a disparity on the exact criteria that enables a player to become a special member of the program.
