PHOTOS: New Missouri Uniforms Officially Unveiled

The Missouri Tigers, after photos were leaked earlier Saturday, revealed new uniforms for five new sports — soccer, volleyball, men's and women's basketball and, most importantly, football — Saturday afternoon.

Thanks to Nike, Tigers football was completely tricked out, featuring uniforms in 24 possible varieties, according to the athletics department website. Here are some tasty previews (via the Tigers' Twitter):

The road whites.

The home blacks.

The uniforms were all revealed at a sort of fashion show during halftime of the Black & Gold Spring Game. An explanation of the designs, from the team's release:

While each uniform delivers optimal lightweight performance and protection, Nike worked closely with the athletic department staff to bring relevant elements of the school's rich heritage into a distinguished, modern uniform design. Each uniform now incorporates consistent use of colors, logos, lettering and numbering.

The Missouri Tigers had put quite a bit of hype into the reveal of their brand-new uniforms for the upcoming season. As Mizzou prepares to enter the SEC in 2012, they'll be displaying a new look to go along with their new conference. On Saturday afternoon the school plays its annual spring game, and at halftime will officially reveal the new uniforms, which will include a home and away version, as well as a third alternate.

As we wait for the official unveiling, pictures of what appears to be the new uniforms have already leaked. First, the white version:

And a yellow and black alternate uniform that includes an alternate helmet. The matte finish on the helmet is a nice touch.

The Tigers will certainly be gussied up in 2012. Hopefully that will translate to success in their new conference.

PHOTOS: New Missouri Uniforms Leaking Bit By Bit

The Missouri Tigers are set to unveil a whole new suite of uniforms at their football spring game on Saturday, with the school's first SEC season providing an occasion. They're going to unify their various golds, draw focus to the word Mizzou and the tiger logo and away from that generic block M, and do a bunch of Nike stuff.

Stellar Mizzou blog Rock M Nation has collected all the imagery that's out there of what these uniforms have to offer, from football to basketball to soccer. As of right now, this is the best guess at what the full football uniform will look like:

Elsewhere, tiger stripes appear, and we're gonna need those to help distinguish the SEC's many other members of the same cat family.
