The South continues its efforts to one day look like a gigantic terra cotta army, with the Auburn Tigers adding to the regionwide rush of statues that included Tim Tebow and Nick Saban last year and Ricky Williams in Austin just weeks ago. Joining up this weekend are Heisman Trophy winners Bo Jackson, Cam Newton and Pat Sullivan.
The visual evidence:
I missed Sullivan's statue, and thus grovel for your forgiveness.
Newton got the biggest cheers, especially while reading a poem he wrote about Auburn (and submitting it for Jackson's critique -- Bo gave it a six out of 10) that mentioned beating Bama, 28-27. That's how you get statues of yourself built in Auburn, y'all. Just keep writing poems about beating Bama.
