The Boise St. Broncos re-upped coach Chris Petersen back in January, and terms of the contract are just now making their way out, via the Idaho Statesman. He'll be making right around $2 million per year, with various bonuses and such added on accordingly.
Petersen, 73-6 as a head coach and one of the first speculated candidates for pretty much every open job over the past few years, remains one of the best values in the country. He already makes less than such middling coaches as Todd Graham, Randy Edsall, Charlie Weis and Jim Grobe. With his ample opportunities every year to leave for elsewhere, it's clearly time any remaining non-believers take heed in Petersen's insistence that he really does care more about building Boise State than taking the best job possible.
Of course, if he ends up making $9 million a year at Texas or what have you, then good for him all the same.
