Former Michigan Wolverines wide receiver Darryl Stonum, who was kicked off the team after being jailed in January, is putting together a list of potential transfer destinations. He's named one of them, to AnnArbor.com's Kyle Meinke: the Eastern Michigan Eagles.
The move isn't official, and Stonum apparently has other suitors besides just EMU, but he says he likes coach Ron English and hopes to make a decision by May 8. He also tells Meinke he thinks he'll be able to play next season.
Stonum finished second in Michigan receiving yards in 2010 before missing all of 2011 due to an alcohol-related suspension. He's also an accomplished kick returner, putting up 1,001 return yards in 2009, a Michigan record. He's struggled to stay out of trouble though, violating probation multiple times and being jailed twice during his Wolverines career.
