If the sources of Pro Football Talk's Mike Florio are to be believed, Miami Dolphins owner Stephen Ross is pushing for his team to take Ryan Tannehill with the eighth overall pick in the NFL Draft if the Texas A&M Aggies quarterback falls to them. The Dolphins lost out on both Matt Flynn and Peyton Manning in free agency, and they've effectively been searching for a long-term answer at quarterback since Dan Marino retired.
Matt Moore has looked competent in his time as the starting quarterback as the Dolphins, but that hasn't stopped the team from looking around for something better. If the Dolphins draft Tannehill, he will reunited with his college head coach, Mike Sherman. Sherman was fired by Texas A&M at the end of the season and was hired by the Dolphins to be their new offensive coordinator.
