NFL Draft 2012: RG3 Almost Certain To Be Picked By Redskins, Says Mike Shanahan

The Washington Redskins are going to select Baylor quarterback Robert Griffin III. The writing has been on the wall since the team made a blockbuster trade with the St. Louis Rams. Nevertheless, head coach Mike Shanahan took the day before the draft to remind the world that things even the most certain outcomes have uncertainties.

Shanahan, having a little fun ahead of the draft, said via the Redskins' official Twitter feed that there was a 99.9 percent chance that Griffin would be the team's pick with the second-overall selection.

A tenth of a percent chance that the pick might be someone other than Baylor quarterback sounds odd. Shanahan added, "nothing is 100 percent."

Last week the Colts confirmed that Andrew Luck would be their selection with the first pick in the draft, confirming what most had assumed since December. Griffin has been meeting with the Redskins in the day leading up to the draft.
