Last year, it was N.C. State's Tom O'Brien and UNC's Everett Withers debating the nature of flagship universitydom, including a withering shot at one point regarding syllabi. This year, it's Heels coach Larry Fedora caring more or less about the Wolfpack depending on the nanosecond:↵
Fedora instantly indicated he understands the importance of the first game he'll coach against the Wolfpack.↵
"It's 184 days from today," he said.↵
And, about the significance of the rivalry, Fedora said, "There's going to be an emphasis."↵
And then it became interesting. After talking about the Wolfpack for a brief moment, Fedora stopped himself.↵
"I don't want to talk about [the rivalry] too much because I don't want to legitimize their program," he said.↵
Instead of calling a rival "That School Out West," the ACC tends to go for "That Other Fine State Institution That Offers A Quality Education But Isn't Quite As Good As Ours, Depending On Your Needs, No Offense Of Course."
