Florida Spring Game 2012 TV Schedule, Rosters And More

The Florida Gators will hold their 2012 Spring football game, dubbed the Orange and Blue Debut, on Saturday at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium. It's the second such event for Will Muschamp, and the first for new offensive coordinator Brent Pease, who's got some tough choices to make, especially at quarterback.

Viewing: The game's set for 1 p.m. ET, with Sun handling the TV broadcast. Online streaming video is available here, and here's the Gator Radio Network. Tickets are $5 for most, but free for students, boosters and such types. The team's first Gator Walk of the year happens at 10:30 a.m.

Participating: Though a starting quarterback won't be named until after spring has ended, we know it will probably be either Jacoby Brissett or Jeff Driskel. As of this writing, teams haven't been split, so here's the complete Florida roster.

Super Fun Fact: Andy Staples of SI.com, Brady Ackerman of Sun Sports, Edward Aschoff of ESPN and Pat Dooley of the Gainesville Sun will serve as guest coaches, continuing a now one-year tradition.

Florida Spring Football: A.C. Leonard Still Faces Suspension, Says Will Muschamp

The Florida Gators reinstated tight end A.C. Leonard to the team after he missed much of the spring due to his early-offseason violence arrest, but that doesn't necessarily mean he's all the way back. Will Muschamp indicated Thursday morning that Leonard will miss some game time this year, though how much all depends.

Muschamp, to Mike Bianchi:

"He will participate in the fall. How much, I don't know," Muschamp said. "He's going to determine that from the standpoint of how he behaves. We all make mistakes, and he obviously made a huge mistake. And he has some things he's gotta work through for me that have nothing to do with anything else than making good choices and decisions.

"But there's gonna be a suspension in the fall, and he's gonna determine how long it's gonna be by how he acts from here to August."

Nothing's set in stone there, other than Muschamp saying "there's gonna a be a suspension in the fall."

Leonard's currently on six months probation after pleading no contest to a simple domestic battery charge. He returned to Gators practice last week.

A.C. Leonard Reinstated By Florida Football After Arrest

In February, Florida Gators tight end A.C. Leonard was arrested and charged with misdemeanor domestic battery. In the wake of the news, the school suspended the player from team activities. It appears the suspension was short-lived and Leonard will now be reinstated.

The Associated Press via Sports Illustrated reports that Leonard was seen attending team practices two weeks ago and has been reinstated by the school.

Leonard practiced with the Gators on Wednesday, but coach Will Muschamp says the sophomore "still has a lot of things to work through before his status for the fall is addressed."

In a statistic that may be a bit too telling, Leonard's arrest marked the 10th arrest of a Florida player during the 15 months that Muschamp has been acting head coach of the team.

2012 Florida Football Spring Practice Has A Start Date Now, By The Way

Few days late on this one, but all right: the Florida Gators have announced a starting date for their 2012 spring practice session. March 14 it is, with open practices on the 16 and 17 coinciding with a coaches' clinic. This leaves the Alabama Crimson Tide as the only major program in the country to declare an opening date, far as I can tell, and there are probably many easy Alabama jokes to make about that, as always.

The Gators will break in new offensive coordinator Brent Pease, determine whether Jacoby Brissett or Jeff Driskel (or a surprise!) will take over for John Brantley, begin sorting through early enrollees from the No. 3 recruiting class, and try not to finish in third place in the SEC East any more. Florida's spring game is set for April 7.

A.C. Leonard Suspended By Florida After Violence Arrest

Florida Gators tight end A.C. Leonard has been suspended from the team after news broke yesterday of a misdemeanor battery arrest. Leonard was accused of shoving a girlfriend and dragging her from an apartment by her hair. Coach Will Muschamp issued a quick statement on the matter:

"This behavior will not be tolerated and A.C. has been suspended from team activities at this time."

"I certainly don't condone this type of behavior -- it is not what we expect from the University of Florida football program."

It is the 10th arrest of the Muschamp era at Florida, with Leonard becoming the ninth player to be cuffed. Nevertheless, Leonard still appears to be in good spirits:
