Oklahoma Football Suspensions: Quentin Hayes Vows Quick Return

Stay connected with SB Nation

Four Oklahoma Sooners players were suspended Wednesday night for breaking unspecified team rules and for undetermined lengths of time. Wide receivers Jaz Reynolds and Trey Franks would be the biggest losses in the event of missed game time, while receiver Kameel Jackson was already looking to transfer out anyway.

Backup safety Quentin Hayes was also involved, and, according to him, missed games might not be that big of a concern:

If everybody who's coming back were to return for preseason camp, Sooners fans would all exhale.

As a freshman, Hayes played in eight games, putting up a handful of tackles. He's in line to play second-string behind experienced senior Javon Harris at strong safety, but his absence would require junior Gabe Lynn to be ready to go. Lynn has appeared in 18 games.
