Kane Whitehurst Dismissed By Arkansas Football After Arrest

Stay connected with SB Nation

Two days after news broke that three Arkansas Razorbacks players were arrested in a dorm burglary spree, the Hogs have announced the dismissal of Kane Whitehurst, a wide receiver who was arrested earlier in the offseason.

Whitehurst redshirted last year, but with Jarius Wright and Joe Adams among those moving on, he entered spring ball with a chance to enter the depth chart. Paul Petrino's offense requires many a wide receiver, and Whitehurst would've had the compact frame to contribute in the slot if he'd been able to return. He was a three-star wide receiver recruit out of Alpharetta, Ga., two years ago.

Whitehurst was arrested for possessing drugs and associated items a month ago, right when the Petrino story was just about to take off.
