College Football Hall Of Fame 2012: Jimmy Johnson Finally Selected

The College Football Hall of Fame will announce its 2012 inductees at 11:30 a.m. ET, but we now already know two of the names to be called. ESPN announced BYU Cougars quarterback Ty Detmer Monday night, and now multiple Miami Hurricanes outlets are reporting former coach Jimmy Johnson has made it in.

Johnson took over Howard Schnellenberger's out-of-nowhere South Beach tyrant and turned it into college football's biggest bad guy, storming to a national title and nearly two others in his five seasons before leaving for the Dallas Cowboys, where he won two Super Bowls. He also had three winning seasons in five years with the Oklahoma St. Cowboys, back when that wasn't so easy to do.

In total, he went 81-34-3 at the college level and remains one of the most memorable coaches ever. Sort of hard to believe he wasn't already in, but as of this writing, neither are Tommie Frazier or Schnellenberger himself, so.
