Kameel Jackson Sticking With Oklahoma, Has Had A Busy Summer

Stay connected with SB Nation

Two weeks ago, Oklahoma Sooners wide receiver Kameel Jackson announced he planned to transfer to Texas A&M -- though the Aggies had reportedly heard nothing of such a move. Last week, OU suspended Jackson along with three teammates, leaving the Sooners' wide receiver depth chart in a tight spot.

And Thursday, Jackson announced he's staying and explained why he was suspended (via Land Thieves):

Decided to stay at OU. & w/ that being said, its time to silence all rumors.

@Kameeljackson18
My suspensions came from my failure to meet my class attendance policy. Nothing more; nothing less.

Jackson played in 11 games as a true freshman, starting two, and caught 12 passes for 165 yards. He was contending for a starting spot as a sophomore, but he was passed on the depth chart by spring phenom Trey Metoyer. Jackson did not play in the spring game, which preceded rumors regarding his homesickness. (He's from Arlington, Texas.)
