Montel Harris Wants To Transfer Closer To Home After Boston College Exit

Stay connected with SB Nation

Boston College Eagles coach Frank Spaziani dismissed all-time leading school rusher Montel Harris from the program on Tuesday. This has obviously further damaged BC's morale, which was already distressingly low. But, moving forward, it's time to ponder where Harris might end up.

The Temple Owls are in play due to their coaching staff connections, while Harris himself sounds like he'd like to think about moving further south than Philadelphia:

If Harris completes his academic requirements and graduates, he can play anywhere he wants in 2012 without sitting out a year if he takes graduate courses not offered by BC.

"I think I want to stay closer to home,'' said Harris, who grew up in Jacksonville, Fla. "That would be my first choice. I know I'm going to spend the next few weeks just looking at all my options.''

Despite coming off a major knee injury that's flared up multiple times, Harris is still a veteran back who's posted more than 4,000 yards from scrimmage in his college career.
