TCU running back Ed Wesley will not return to the team next season due to family reasons.

TCU running back Ed Wesley will not return to the team next season according to Horned Frogs' head coach Gary Patterson. Patterson confirmed the running back's departure in an interview with the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. Patterson said Wesley left the team because of "family reasons."

In February, Patterson said Wesley was considering entering the NFL Draft because his mother was sick. He later decided to return to school for his senior season.

After leading the Horned Frogs in rushing in 2010 with 1,078 yards, Wesley finished second in rushing in 2011 with 726 yards. During his three-year TCU career, Wesley rushed for 2,442 yards and scored 21 touchdowns. He also caught 22 passes for 314 yards and three touchdowns.
