I don't even know what Jerry Sandusky's lawyer, Joe Amendola, is doing anymore. It's been a common theme, but he's gone ahead and topped himself now. On Friday, he held an impromptu press conference before the judge broke it up. His comments were ... let's go with colorful here.
Amendola: I'll "probably die of a heart attack" if his client beats all charges. (from the AP)— Christina Butler (@ChristinaCBS21) June 22, 2012
Amendola: "Do you know what the odds are of walking on 52 charges? The likelihood is strong he will be convicted of something." #Sandusky— Paula Reid(@PaulaReidCBS) June 22, 2012
Amendola: "[Jerry] is an overgrown child.Kids tend to be naïve & not really appreciate the seriousness of what they are facing."#Sandusky— Paula Reid(@PaulaReidCBS) June 22, 2012
And at this point, he's gone into complete Lionel Hutz mode. Yeah, Amendola was probably just joking around of reporters. But, again, he was doing so inside the courthouse. And had to be stopped by the judge. Pretty incredible.
