When Georgia landed five-star running back Isaiah Crowell from Columbus via the finest Signing Day stunt ever -- a white puppy dog! -- it marked a recruiting class that was supposed to establish the Dawgs as a regional superpower once again. Since then, he's been benched and suspended and has been the subject of constant rumors about his work ethic. He might be the least popular player on the team despite being the SEC Freshman of the Year, which is amazing.

And now, felony weapons charges. The Red and Black has the report:

Crowell was charged by ACC Police on a felony count of weapon in a school zone, a felony count of altered ID mark and misdemeanor count of possession/carrying a concealed weapon. He was booked at 3:37 a.m. and bond was set at $7,500.

That's Athens-Clarke County Police, lest you think nearby rival Georgia Tech has access to its own conference-wide law enforcement personnel.

Crowell produced 909 yards and six touchdowns in 2011. We can safely assume he'll be the latest Bulldog to face harsh discipline for off-field adventures.
