Michigan's slow, inexorable move into the 21st century is getting another spiffy update in the form of new-ish uniforms for the 2012 Cowboys Classic, a season-opening shindig in Texas with defending national champion Alabama. Did we mention spiffy?
The new uniforms have a single yellow shoulder stripe running from one arm to the other, and big blue block Ms on the sides, but otherwise don't look that different from the classic Michigan road uniforms.
The gloves, however?
The gloves are the sort of hideous Frankenapparel that combines tradition (The words are the lyrics to Michigan's beloved fight song, "Hail to the Victors") and, er, fashion (I doubt anyone's going to read all of those lyrics when Denard Robinson flashes his gloves at the camera after running in for six) in a manner sure to enrage traditionalists.
Which is good, because Michigan's fan base only has millions of those.
