Senior linebacker Storm Klein has been re-instated at Ohio State after recently requesting to return to the team, as Tim May of the Columbus Dispatch reports. According to May, Klein will be allowed to return to the Buckeyes' football program, "barring a late complication."
In July, new Buckeyes coach Urban Meyer dismissed Klein from the Ohio State football team just one day after his arrest on charges of domestic violence and assault. The linebacker has since pleaded down to misdemeanor disorderly conduct, though, being given a sentence of 18 months probation.
With the developments in the justice system, it appears that Meyer has re-considered his stance on Klein's status with the team. After appearing in 38 games, including ten starts, during his first three years with Ohio State, he'll likely be competing with Curtis Grant for playing time this fall.

Former Ohio State linebacker Storm Klein has asked to be reinstated to the football team after pleading down from recent criminal charges, as Sports Illustrated reports on Wednesday. Klein was kicked off the team after being charged with domestic violence, but he's since pleaded down to a lesser charge of misdemeanor disorderly conduct.
A starter at linebacker for ten games with the Buckeyes last season, Klein was kicked off the team by new coach Urban Meyer for violating part of the team's behavior policy. The team does appear to be considering bringing him back now, though, as team spokesperson Jerry Emig said on Wednesday that Klein's status with the team is being re-considered.
Klein has been sentenced by the Franklin County Municipal Court judge to 18 months of probation after being accused of, "hitting the mother of their child during an argument at his apartment."

Urban Meyer has dismissed senior linebacker Storm Klein from the Ohio State Buckeyes football team following his arrest on charges of domestic violence and assault. Klein was arrested Friday night in Columbus, Ohio. The charges stem from an alleged altercation between Klein and a woman about their relationship, which left the woman with injuries to the forearms and head, according to court testimony.
Meyer spoke about the dismissal in a press release, and some of his quotes were passed along by Tim May of the Columbus Dispatch.
"The charges filed against Storm Klein violate the core values of the Ohio State football program," Meyer said in press release just now.
Meyer also said that Ohio State will reevaluate Klein's status if there are any changes in the charges against him.
Klein was expected to compete for playing time with sophomore linebacker Curtis Grant this fall. He's made 10 starts in his Buckeyes career and has played in 38 total games.
