Iowa's De'Andre Johnson was arrested twice in three days last week, for suspicion of keeping a disorderly house and "eluding." Playing time at Iowa will be eluding him instead, as Iowa coach Kirk Ferentz announced Johnson's dismissal from the Hawkeyes program on Wednesday.
Ferentz' statement on the dismissal was curt:
"I am disappointed that things didn’t work out better for De’Andre," said Ferentz. "We wish him all the best moving forward."
Johnson had 18 carries for 79 yards for Iowa as a freshman in 2011, but could have been one of Iowa's key contributors in 2012, as the Angry Iowa Running Back-Hating God has struck down the Hawkeyes and left them with little more than an old poster for Waterworld in the backfield.
Iowa blog Black Heart Gold Pants has some ideas on who might carry the ball in the fall for Ferentz.
