UCLA coach Jim Mora committed an offense earlier this week when, on a radio show, he said he tells recruits his campus is safe, because, "We don't have murders a block from our campus."
This went over poorly, as nearby arch-rival USC recently had multiple murders near its campus. Coaches probably should never reference specific acts of extreme violence unless the situation demands it, but Mora's history of verbal stumbles may indicate we should cut him some slack here. It's kind of his thing, but we'll assume he's learned to tread more carefully.
It's not a good sign when mostly reformed troll Lane Kiffin gets to be the bigger man, but here we go:
