Since coming out of relative nowhere to win the 2000 national title, Bob Stoops' Sooners have finished lower in the postseason polls than in the preseason polls in nine of 11 seasons. Does that change in 2012? There is potential everywhere you look, but the injury bug keeps biting, and the receiving corps is as green as green can be in the land of crimson and cream.

Dana Holgorsen and West Virginia in the Big 12: it just feels right, doesn't it? WVU will find kindred, pass-and-pace-heavy spirits in its new conference, but if the Mountaineers are to live up to rather lofty expectations, a new defensive coordinator needs to figure things out in a hurry.

Two years after inheriting an awkward situation in Lubbock, Texas Tech head coach Tommy Tuberville has been at the helm of a slipping football program. If a turnaround is in the cards, it probably starts in 2012 -- Tuberville will field one of the most experienced teams in the country -- but in a loaded Big 12, will experience alone be enough?

Kansas State won 10 games with no margin whatsoever last year. It really doesn't seem like they can duplicate that feat in 2012, but are you willing to bet against Bill Snyder and Collin Klein at this point?

Paul Rhoads gets Rhoadsier every year, pulling bigger upsets and making six wins seem like nine. But his Iowa State squad will have to pull quite a few upsets to reach their third bowl in four seasons, and while Rhoads proclaims this squad his deepest and most talented, there is reason for skepticism. Convince us, Coach.
