Bennett Okotcha joins a growing list of OU players to leave the team, although no reason for the departure has been offered.
The Oklahoma Sooners have had several players transfer before their 2012 season already, and the school confirmed on Tuesday morning that safety Bennett Okotcha is the latest player to do so.
Okotcha, a three-star recruit in the 2011 recruiting class, never played a down with the team before his transfer after redshirting his first and only season with the team due to a shoulder surgery. No reason for the transfer has been offered yet and Okotcha's twitter account has been quiet since the announcement of the move.
Sooners blog, Crimson and Cream Machine, reacted to the move with disappointment, but also noted that the redshirt freshman wasn't expected to significantly contribute in 2012.
Also notable was the fact that junior wide receiver Trey Franks was listed on the team's official roster at wide receiver upon the announcement of Okotcha's departure.
